I Would Like to Thank Everyone :)

I haven't posted in a really long time. I'm currently trying to figure out Blogger's new layout. *Le sigh* It hasn't been too user friendly. So I just wanted to make a short post and thank all of my followers! There are some people who are not physically following my blog, but continue to comment and support! Don't forget to follow, guys! I have now reached over 1 million views! Even to those who do not support my blog, thank you! Every single time you come back to belittle my knowledge, make death threats and bash me as a person, you are STILL helping me by bringing my blog up to one of the top Google searches!

💓💓😗😗 BESOS, Y POR FAVOR!

I never imagined my blog would make it this far. I figured close friends and fellow APBT and American Bully fanciers would be the only ones to show love and support. The comments and emails I receive are super amazing and absolutely brighten my day. Even the hateful ones. Only because it reminds me of how much I love myself and my life. It also reminds me how happy I am to not be a miserable, bitter person who brings others down to make myself feel better 😏😉

With that being said, I have 3 posts that will be published as soon as I figure out the glitches and tweak a few things.

Again, thank you guys so much! My ultimate goal was to connect with Bull breed owners, lovers, activists and fanciers. My mission is not completed, but it has definitely started to take off!

Blue Nose and Red Nose Pit Bulls - Which is Better?

Grab a pen and paper! It is about to get real!

Where did the term blue nose and red nose come from?

Old Family Red Nose (OFRN) is a strain off of a bloodline. OFRN Pit Bulls tend to vary in looks depending on the different strains of the original OFRN strain. OFRN was a close knit strain. It was hard to get your hands on unless you were a well known dogman/breeder. The majority of OFRN dogs did not leave the yard they were produced on. If they did, it was to another close friend-dogman.

Being that OFRN was kept in such a small circle, fanciers of the strain would go into dire depths to have one in their yard. This is where backyard breeders started to intervene. They started taking any red dog they could get their hands on and breed the hell out of it. They saw what all backyard breeders see; DOLLAR SIGNS. They could sell an average red Pit Bull for double the price by calling it an OFRN. Eventually, more backyard breeders started to catch on. By having hundreds, even thousands, of red Pit Bulls being labeled with incorrect strains produced, backyard breeders lost all of the history on the dogs. They couldn't even tell you where the strain started. They started using the term we know today as red nose

The truth of the matter is, OFRN is still to this day kept in close circles. A lot of the dogs being called OFRN Pit Bulls are just more uneducated breeders who do not understand the history and the hype OFRN first gained. OFRN dogs have a deep red (almost reddish-brown) nose, nails, and lips. The borderline pink noses, pink lips, and white nails are typically, not always, but typically, another bloodline that has been mislabeled. I see it every day on websites. A lot of breeders claim to know the history of the OFRN strain. The truth is, they haven't been around long enough to understand it.

Now, with this being said, just because your dog is a deep red/brown color, doesn't mean he is a Pit Bull, let alone an OFRN Pit Bull. So, in conclusion, red nose is just another term backyard breeders have made overly hyped. They aren't a special kind of dog. They aren't a completely different breed. They do not have better or worse temperaments. They are simply a red dog with a red nose

Now we can move on to blue nose "Pit Bulls". Blue nose started off much like the red nose did as far as being used by backyard breeders. Backyard breeders saw how much "red nose" dogs went for. Unbeknownst of the OFRN vs red nose history, they decided to start a new hype. Blue nose became very prominent in the 21st century. However, backyard breeders have been producing blue dogs since around the 80s and started to gain minuscule recognition in the 90s.

Blue American Pit Bull Terriers were culled in the beginning stages of the breed's development. To create what backyards breeders call "blue nose Pit Bulls" they had to cross American Staffordshire Terriers as well as other Bull and Mastiff breeds to create them. Blue is a common color with other Molosser breeds, however, it isn't common at all with APBTs. Another breed mixed with Pit Bulls is the Blue Paul Terrier. The breed is now extinct and was short lived. It was originally created to essentially be a blue Pit Bull. Many blue dogs today with Pit Bull lineage who are blue are influenced by the BPT somewhere down its lineage.

After years of breeding blue dogs and calling them purebred Pit Bulls, the term blue nose just seemed to stick around. A lot of people think blue nose is a breed. However, as stated above, many different breeds were mixed into one to create the desired look. Being that all "Pit Bulls" with blue noses were a huge lump of mixed breeds, there is no way it can be considered a breed.

After years of being mislabeled, internet was discovered. Being that more than 2 billion people are active internet users, information was able to spread quickly. Unfortunately by this time, there were more uneducated internet users than educated ones. Day by day, incorrect information was beginning to reach mass numbers of people. Seemingly to say, it became out of control.

Add rescues, shelters, more backyard breeders, uneducated owners, and the government into mix, the backyard breeding terms stayed and the breed's name was ruined.

There you have it. A complex version of how the blue nose and red nose terms were created.

Things Pit Bull Owners Say

HAAAA! Not really! It's what mutt owners say!

This is a real life conversation between a fellow Facebooker and myself. I can't even begin to tell you the uncountable amount of times I shook my head and peed my pants from laughing. I just, I can't! I just can't with these people! The ridiculousness is so ridiculous it's beyond ridiculous!

*Disclaimer* Her grammar was horrid. I cleaned it up a lot.

Me: Blue nose Pit Bulls are not a real thing. It is a BYB term that became overly hyped in the 90's to peddle mutt puppies to make them seem more worthy of the price tag. Not to mention, I would probably beat you upside your head and steal your "blue Pit Blue" seeing as they are extremely rare. You won't find a Pit Bull in a shelter. You definitely won't find a blue Pit Bull in a shelter. That's great of you to rescue Bull breeds though! Keep rescuing and educating yourself as well as others.

Her: What's a BYB? <Yes, that's really all she got out of that paragraph.>

Me: A BYB is abbreviated for backyard breeder.

Her: I rescued my dog from a fighter! He kept his dog at a location different from his home. So he wasn't bred in the backyard. So your point is moot (she actually said; mute). He is a purebread (note the bread) blue nose American Staffordshire Bull Pit Terrier. Pit Bulls are not Bull related, they are Terriers (she actually said terrors). They were a licensed kennel who bred a lot of dogs for bait and Pits (she actually said pitts) to fight. Brush up on your facts before you talk shit or own one! You're only adding to BSL (she actually; breed specified legality)

Me: If your definition of a BYB being that dogs are bred in the backyard, you need to educate yourself before you own any breed of dog. A BYB is one who breeds for no purpose other than to make money. A BYB is one who breeds dogs who have no documented lineage. A BYB is one who breeds mentally unstable dogs. A BYB is one who knows jack shit about the breed they are breeding. A BYB is one who does not perform any advised health tests for the breed in question. A BYB is one who does not prove their dog worthy of breeding.

American Pit Bull Terriers were bred to fight. You don't have to teach them to fight. They are often conditioned to fight, but conditioning to conquer in the pit and training them to fight are nothing of the sorts. It is in their genetic make up to fight! You "rescued" your mutt from what is most likely a USDA licensed breeder who breeds many different breeds. I highly doubt anybody would breed dogs to use them as bait. Not a single notable dog fighter has ever documented using bait dogs. That was a myth meant to scare the uneducated and was started by the ASPCA.

Considering you think Brad and Anjelina had anything to do with creating a dog's life, I just don't know what to tell you! I can't help ya! Considering you think American Staffordshire Pit Terriers are a breed, I just don't know what to tell you! I can't help ya!

If you're interested in learning how to help rid BSL, which stands for Breed Specific Legislation, I'm more than willing to educate you. If you're not, and you're only interested in spewing false information that leads to dogs being killed, I suggest you have a nice day.

Her: You aren't making any sense. What does Brad Pitt and his wife have to do with anything? I reported the fighters and it was investigated. He lost all of his dogs because they were using them to fight. It is something that my town is well known for. My dog has papers from the vet stating he is an American Staffordshire Bull Pit Terrier. So what bitch? Now you're telling me the vet isn't educated? You are the reason we have BSL (she again actually said; breed specified legality). You make people think bad things about our dogs. For the last time, my dog is an American Staffordshire Bull Pit Terrier. My dog is the original breed of Pits (she again actually said; pitts).

Me: There is no such breed as American Staffordshire Bull Pit. There are American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and Bull Terriers. The only breed of Pit Bull is the Pit Bull. The only original Pit Bull is the Pit Bull. Other breeds were created by the Pit Bull. However, Bulldogs and terriers are what created the Pit Bull. Pit Bulls were bred for dog on dog combat. American Staffordshire Terriers were bred for shows and temperament towards other dogs and animals.

Would you happen to have a citation for an article in which states a dog fighting operation was invaded?

Her: Um, I'm not fighting for gun-control, so your point is moot (she again actually said; mute). I'm fighting for BSL (pretty sure she meant against)! Pit Bull is not a breed. It never was a breed. It was only used as a blanket term to group together dogs. YOU KNOW! LIKE LABS! It is so crazy that you think Pit Bulls were bred to fight. They were bred for hunting and farm work. After a few years of breeding they became protectors of small children. Like I said before, brush up on your facts because you talk shit! AND NO! The news didn't report on the bust.

Me: Labs are a recognized breed. Lab is short for Labrador Retriever, just as Pit Bull is short for American Pit Bull Terrier. American Pit Bull Terriers have been an established breed for well over a century. We're talking, a century and a half here. Retriever would be the group Labs are classified as. Just as Pit Bulls are classified as Terriers or one of the Bull breeds. It is the government who enacted the law in which a medium sized dog with a short coat and square head is classified as a Pit Bull. The government isn't savvy in dog breeds. It is people like you who chose to be sheep and follow this ridiculous propaganda.

I also find it highly unlikely there was absolutely no media coverage on a dog fighting operation bust. It would be public knowledge. I am pretty up to date with all DF sting operations. So why lie? Just admit you have made a mistake in the past by buying, not rescuing, not adopting, but buying a mutt from a backyard breeding, puppy mill who just so happened to licensed with the USDA?

Her: OMFG bitch! What does it matter? There is a lot of shit that doesn't get covered int he fucking news. JFC you are so immature. My dog is a fucking bluenose Pit (two t's). My dad bred them since I was a fucking baby. I would have to be really fucking stupid if I didn't know what a Pit Bull was. Nobody fucking cares what you think you know bitch! Bluenose gator mouth Pits (two t's) is what my dad bred since I was born. My dad fucking died. So now you're talking shit about my dad bitch. I don't fucking take that shit lightly bitch.

Me: Well, this is where I end this conversation. I only speak with people who have social skills and a basic education. Verbal abuse and expletives will only get you so far in life. Not to mention, you're not helping out any of the dogs who are victims of BSL by your logic and lack of knowledge. I hope and pray your dog never becomes a victim of BSL or another statistic. You're not stupid. The word stupid was not mentioned a single time during our conversation. You are a blind, uneducated sheep following and spewing ignorance.

Before I end this completely, you are young. The age your dad first started breeding mutts was around the time when American Bullies were being created. So no, you're not stupid for not knowing what a Pit Bull is, you've just never properly been educated. I'm also pretty sure your dad was never mentioned by me. I really have no idea how your thought process works. I really don't. SMH! The day your life is disrupted by BSL, you can look back on this conversation and pray it isn't too late to make a change.

Have a nice day.

Her: BYE YOU STUPID FUCKING DUMB CUNT BITCH! IGNORANT ASS BITCH! STUPID ASS BITCH! LYING ASS BITCH! NOT KNOWING WHAT A PIT BULL IS ASS BITCH!
SCARY ASS FUCKING CUNT! BET YOU WOULDN'T SAY THAT SHIT TO MY FACE LOOKING ASS BITCH! GO DIE BITCH! DIE! DIE! DIE!

Mhm. You guessed it! She blocked me after sending me that heartfelt, inspirational message. I can honestly say, I have never had somebody care so much to be that honest with me. That was from the heart *tears*.

Girl BYE! I just can't deal with the ignorance. No, I didn't call the little bitch stupid, but Jesus H, she was a fucking idiot!

SHEEPLE! Wake the fuck up! When somebody is wasting their breath, finger strength, or time on you, fucking take that shit and run with it. If you truly love what you think is a Pit Bull, then fucking learn how to rid BSL from all neighborhoods, towns, cities, counties, states, and countries! Wake the fuck up folks! This shit is getting worse by the fucking day!

Hulk - The World's Largest Pit Bull

What kind of Pit Bull is The Hulk?

I get asked this question daily while trying to debate with somebody or educate them. To be frank, I am tired of hearing and seeing about him. Some people say he's a "rare" Pit Bull. Some people say he's a mutt. Some people say he is a Mastiff mixed with Pit Bull. Some people say he just a Presa Canario. Some people just say a lot. I'm not one for small talk, so I'll just get to it.

Is The Hulk a Pit Bull or a mutt?

The Hulk is not a mutt. A mutt is a dog with unknown lineage. The Hulk's lineage IS known. Therefore, making a him a registered mixed breed dog. Most people think he's a Pit Bull (facepalm), whereas a lot think he's a Mastiff mixed with Pit Bull (facepalm). The Hulk is not a Pit Bull. I have searched through online pedigrees and have went back nearly 20 generations and have yet to find an American Pit Bull Terrier. After 20 generations of breeding, it is considered a new breed. In 20 generations, I have yet to find a Pit Bull in The Hulk's pedigree. Does that make him a new breed? No, of course not. It does however, no longer make him a Pit Bull. It doesn't even make him a watered down Pit Bull.

Chopper, often called a Pit Bull by the uneducated, was a Mastiff/Bulldog mix AKA bandog. A bandog is a mixed breed dog used for working purposes. Chopper was registered as an APBT through the ADBA (American Dog Breeders Association) for weight pulling purposes only. A momentary lapse of judgement on their end, yes, but they did have their own rules towards the registration of him. Chopper was only meant to be registered to attend and compete at weight pulling events. He was not allowed to be bred and have his offspring registered as APBT. However, ADBA let the registration of his offspring slip through the cracks. Another momentary lapse, but this time, in common sense on their part.

How can bloodlines tell what breed he is?

I won't lie and say I'm amazing with all different bloodlines with all Bull breeds. However, I will say many people who are good with bloodlines have seen known Presa Canario bloodlines in The Hulk's pedigree. You may ask how you can have Presa Canario bloodlines in a pedigree that is registered as APBT. It's easy. Hanging papers. Presa Canarios and other Mastiff type dogs have been bred into the bloodlines over the years to create the XL American Bully.

Is The Hulk an American Bully?

He's leaning a lot closer to an American Bully than he is to an APBT. However, I would have to say no again. Not very many American Bullies are even American Bullies. Exotic and XL American Bullies are the furthest thing from the original vision of the breed. You can see tons of Pocket, Classic, and Standard American Bullies who all resemble one another. However, XL and Exotic Bullies all have a different look. My own personal opinion here, but I feel it is okay to have a few throwbacks throughout litters, but the rest of the dogs should all resemble one another. They should at least look like they can be in the same family. The Hulk has had 2 litters now. His current litter is too young for me to nitpick, but his previous litter is a few months shy of a year old. There is no consistency with the generations BEFORE or after The Hulk so far. Even the Hulk's litter mates all look different.

(The Hulk's litter-mate) High rear, underbite, weak chest, and overly spaced legs.

(The Hulk's son) High rear, weak chest, underbite, and weak back legs.

The Hulk's sister from a repeat breeding (same dam and sire). Again, NO CONSISTENCY!

(The Hulk's daughter) How high can that ass get? Why is her head so small?

(The Hulk's son) Awww his chest is always playing hide-n-go-seek.

This is another Hulk brother. I mean, he looks like a Boxer! There is absolutely NO consistency with these dogs.

Again, consistency. Look closely at the differences in these dog's terrible structures. The faces do appear to be similar, but the shape and size of the head as well as body is completely inconsistent. The only thing consistent about these dogs are their inconsistency.

This is another picture of Gemma (Hulk's daughter).

Does this dog look oddly familiar to you? Why yes, it probably does. Seeing as this is Eddington's Wanna-be-Whopper AKA Hulk's Great X 4 grandfather. If I'm not mistaken, Hulk looks to be a thrown back of this Mastiff/Bulldog mix. Am I right? Or am I right?

How does calling The Hulk a Pit Bull hurt the breed?

How doesn't it? Refer back to my previous blog post about mislabeling and the dangers. With The Hulk, next time a Mastiff, Mastiff mix, or Mastiff type dog bites somebody, Pit Bulls will be blamed. Why? Because thanks to Marlon and the equally as dumb media, everybody will now think any dog over 100 pounds is a Pit Bull. There are nearly 20 breeds already misidentified as Pit Bulls, now he's just added another group of breeds to that list. THAT is why APBT owners and enthusiasts are so pissed about The Hulk being called a Pit Bull. The media already thinks anything with teeth is a Pit Bull. So how is Marlon mislabeling his registered mixed breed helping people to make positive views on Pit Bulls?

Why does DDK call him a Pit Bull?

Uhhhh they're assholes. No, really, it's to make a quick, but large buck. Would you rather buy a fat American Bully who doesn't fit breed standards for 10k or would you rather buy a rare XXXXXXL Pit Bull for 10k? He's a salesman. Not just anyone can be a reputable breeder, but nearly everyone can be a liar to sell something when they need them light bills paaaaid. Do you like money? Then you will lie your ass off if it's your job. And yes, puppy peddling is Marlon's job.

Why do you and others hate The Hulk?

As a dog lover, I would never hate one. As a dog lover, I can dislike the breeders who have bred them that way. The Hulk is a sloppy dog. His jowls are droopy, his rear is high, he's fat, his chest is too wide-set, and he'll die a young age. Don't take it so personally. Large breed dogs do not live long lives. It's science. It's been proven dog after dog. It also doesn't help when the owner shoves artificial, man-made products down his throat in attempt to help gain "muscle" (he's really just fat).

What is your overall view of The Hulk and DDK?

I think The Hulk can be an amazing pet. I do not think he will ever be an amazing producer. Shelters are filled with mutts produced by back yard breeders. Although DDK's mixed breed puppies sell for thousands of dollars, somebody can just as easily go adopt a mutt from the shelter. By lining back yard breeders pockets with money, you are potentially the reason why a deserving back yard breeder's "productions" die in shelters daily. If you want a puppy similar to Hulk, research the different Mastiff type dogs and find a reputable breeder. I promise, your dog will turn out EXACTLY like Hulk has. Just make sure you overfeed him.

I have been duped in to spending thousands of dollars based off of what a breeder said about a certain dog. I was tricked into spending my hard-earned money on a dog to turn out completely different than it was said to. I don't like seeing other's duped by money-hungry assholes who use their dogs for financial gain.

Take a Chihuahua and cross with a Yorkie/Min Pin mix.

The offspring will have a variety of looks. Some will look like Chihuahua mixes while other's will look purebred a Chi. Some will look like Yorkie mixes while other's will look like a purebred Yorkie. Some will look like Min Pin mixes while some will look like a purebred Min Pin.

Now, we will take the puppy who looks like a purebred Min Pin and breed it to a Yorkie.

WHAT? Oh wow! All of the puppies look like they're a purebred Yorkie. How on earth could that have happened?

We're now lying to people and selling purebred Yorkies for a good price. Plus, we were able to find papers and hang their pedigree. GREAT!

Now, somebody has taken the mutt with hung papers and bred it to another purebred Yorkie. OMG! They all came out looking like Yorkies except for ONE who looks like a Min Pin.

So we're happy now! This is a SPECIAL type of Yorkie. It's extremely rare. We have now bred this Yorkie and his offspring nearly 10 times and we have YET to produce a Min Pin looking Yorkie.

Why is this? Why can we not get this rare Yorkie? Well, it's SCIENCE! It was  fluke thing. It will never happen again. So we'll just continue to stud out the mutt who looks like a Min Pin but is labeled as a Yorkie. We will set his stud fee at $38,874,127 because, well, somebody will pay it.

BAM! There you have it guys! That's what DDK has done! If you didn't get it by now, Hulk is our Min Pin in this situation. He is the Min Pin looking Yorkie who will NEVER be reproduced.

This will continue to go on for many generations if you keep breeding them to Yorkies. Even AFTER 20 generations, you may never have a "throwback" of a Min Pin. It is really that simple. Not only is it science, it's commonsense.

That is exactly how not only DDK's dogs are, but the the majority of XL American Bullies. They have more throwbacks in a litter than they do consistency. You just cannot breed two mixed breed dogs together and create a consistent look. That is why people are paying thousands of dollars for DDK's puppies. They are promising a certain look of dog they CANNOT promise. NOBODY can promise!

My number one issue isn't only with DDK taking advantage of people. My main issue is with how DDK continuously mislabels their dogs. He has gained publicity over a false record. By mislabeling dogs, no matter the breed, false statistics will be created. There were already MILLIONS of people that thought Pit Bulls can be large, bulky dogs that can come in many colors, shapes, and sizes. Now DDK and the media have made EVEN MORE millions of people who will now think this way. Even the millions of people who don't think he is a "true" Pit Bull, still think he is mixed with a Pit Bull. He is NOT! He isn't a Pit Bull whatsoever. There is only ONE Pit Bull and that is the American Pit Bull Terrier.

By gaining all of the publicity, Marlon and his wife have the opportunity to educate people on WHAT a Pit Bull is and isn't. He KNOWS what a Pit Bull is. He has WORKED with actual American Pit Bull Terriers. However, he would rather line his own pockets with money than to help fight Breed Specific Legislation. THAT is my issue with him. If he wants to sell his mixed breed dogs for thousands of dollars, FINE! Do what makes you happy. Just STOP mislabeling them to sell them for WAY more than what they're worth!

How Much Do You Know About Pit Bulls?

          Major common misconceptions and stereotypes

What is a "red nose" and "blue nose" pit?

Nothing. There is nothing special about the color of the dog's nose. This was started by what reputable breeders and activists call back yard breeders. However, there is a strain by the name of "Old Family Red Nose". These dogs actually are often referred to as "Red Nose Pits". There are many bloodlines that produce red noses. Without proper pedigree and lineage, there is no way to know whether or not a dog is an OFRN (Old Family Red Nose). Some owners and dogmen are not fanciers of the OFRN strain. Some consider it to be a bloodline whereas others do not. It is often looked down on because others believe it was crossed with another breed and only created for looks. So, even if you DO have an OFRD dog, don't think all Pit Bull owners and dogmen will be accepting of it.

Are red pits more prone to aggression than blue pits?

No. The color of the dog does not define them. It is nothing more than genetics. The color is irrelevant to their temperament. It is no different than a human having blonde or brown hair. Of course we can crack blonde jokes all day long, but it's been easily proven to be a myth.

Are blue pits more popular than red pits?

To an uneducated owner or back yard breeder, yes. To a dogman, breed fancier, and actual APBT owner, no. Blue American Pit Bull Terriers were culled in the beginning stages of the breed's establishment. Breeders felt blue was a genetic defect. They believed the dog would be more prone to health problems. Blue Pit Bulls are not impossible to come by. However, they are rare! Your chances of winning the lottery are about the same as not only owning, but seeing a blue Pit Bull. There are breeders who have bred for more than 20 years and never had a dog produce any blues. I have yet to see a blue Pit Bull. If anything, I would consider the color to be extinct when it comes to the breed.

Are Pit Bulls aggressive with other pets?

Yes. They were bred for dog on dog combat. They are more commonly aggressive with the same sex, but they do not discriminate. This does not mean they are human aggressive. They were bred to be handled by humans before, during, and after a fight. If a dog was found to be a "man biter", they were culled. It was too much of a liability to own and produce human aggressive dogs. Some dogs never turn "hot". In other words, some puppies do not show aggressive. However, the likelihood of a Pit Bull not turning hot is pretty slim.

Can I own multiple Pits?

Yes. You can own as many does as you would like. Should you own multiple Pit Bulls? Not unless you know proper confinement, have experience, and have them for a reason. Pit Bulls have a prey drive higher than any other breed. They will not get along with your cat, Mr. Snuggles. They will not get along with your dog, Mr. Peanut. American Pit Bull Terriers are more commonly bred for hunting and other working reasons. They are a dog that needs a purpose and plenty of exercise. In other words, you shouldn't go out searching for a Pit Bull because you want a couch ornament.

What are XL, XXL, XXXL Pit Bulls?

They are not Pit Bulls. Pit Bulls are between 35 and 60 pounds. The newly recognized breed, American Bully, has an XL class. XXL and XXXL are ploys to get unknowing buyers to spend more money on American Bullies. There is no such thing as an XL Pit Bull. There is only one Pit Bull. That is the American Pit Bull Terrier.

Can you train aggression out of a Pit?

No. You can not train aggression out of any dog of any breed. It is not all in how you raise them. It is not all in how you train them. It is not all in how you love them. It is all in how you breed them. Genetics are the main role that play into a dog's health and temperament. If your dog is animal aggressive, you need to learn how to live with it on a day-to-day basis. If your dog is human aggressive, as sad as it is, it needs to be PTS (Put to Sleep). Contrary to popular belief, there is no situation that is 100% controlled with a dog that exhibits any signs of aggression.

It is a complete and utter contradiction when owners an activist blame the owners when a fatality happens, yet, applaud them once they bounce back from abuse.

Example:

Dog A was owned by the same family since the day he was born. He grows up and exhibits signs of aggression and mauls a child one day. Owners and activists blame it on how the owner treated, raised and trained, or lack thereof, the dog.

In reality, the dog had love, food, proper training, exercise, and plenty human interaction.

Dog B was rescued from a home where it was starved, beaten, and never socialized. He lives the rest of his long life out and never even so much as barks at a another living, breathing being. Owners and activist say it is because of their nature and how they are able to bounce back from any situation.

So which is it? Is it how they are raised or how their true nature is? It is a complete and utter contradiction. To be an activist, you need to know and understand how genetics work.

How many breeds of Pit Bulls are there?

One. The American Pit Bull Terrier is the only breed that should be called a Pit Bull.

Are there really 5.3 million Pit Bulls in the US?

No! That is actually an extremely funny statistic. There are 5.3 million mutts who share one or more characteristics with the American Pit Bull Terrier in the US.

Can I find a Pit Bull in a shelter?

Yes. You may. You can find any dog of any breed in a shelter. The problem is, you will never actually know if your dog is said breed without it's lineage. If you would look into different sales sites (Bookoo, Craigslist etc.), Facebook sales groups, breeder websites etc., you will notice bloodlines. Bloodlines determine the difference between an American Pit Bull Terrier and an American Bully if it is registered. American Bullies are a newly recognized breed who are still registered as American Pit Bull Terriers.

Finding a dog registered as APBT with the bloodlines to back it up is a lot more rare than one would think. Throughout my studies, I have found that I have yet to see but one APBT for sale online. Most dogs are labeled as Pit Bulls and are nothing more than shelter mutts or American Bullies. Just because your dog isn't a Pit Bull DOES NOT make it an American Bully either. Your dog will ALWAYS be considered a mutt without a pedigree.

What are Pit Bull bloodlines?

Red Boy, Jeep, Sorrells, Colby, Jocko, Eli, Hammonds, and Boudreaux are some the more common bloodlines.

What are American Bully bloodlines?

Gotti, and Razor Edge are the foundation bloodlines for the breed. A couple of newer "jump offs" or strains are RocNRuby and Remy. Miagi and DAX are often confused as bloodlines, but they are just dogs. Just because a dog is popular or highly sought after does not make it a bloodline. Since the breed is still forming and new, there aren't near as many established bloodlines for bullies as there are Pit Bulls.

Is Gator Mouth a good bloodline?

Gator Mouth never was, is, or will be a bloodline. There have been plenty of Pit Bulls, even American Bullies, named Gator. There are a few Gators that were more popular than others, some even produced better than others, but none have been an established bloodline. Some say Gator Mouth is a bloodline because of a certain dog while others say it started because the underside of the dog's mouth looked like an alligator's mouth. Who the hell really knows where it started? All that matters is it isn't real!

What does a Pit Bull look like?

Hopefully for the most part, you've learned a little by now. American Bullies vary in size, shape, color, and appearance, as they have just gained recognition by reputable registries. However, American Pit Bull Terriers were being created in the 1800's. Therefore, they do not vary like that of the American Bully. Pit Bulls lean more towards the terrier side as far as weight. They are medium sized, very lean, yet muscular, dogs. Their heads are not large and blocky like that of the American Bully or shelter mutt. Their jaws protrude a tad wider than their muzzle, but are not overly large or massive. They have very pronounced chests, but they are not distinctively wide like that of the American Bully.

Most people will argue about the variations of the look of the Pit Bull. However, those people have not done their research as to what the breed actually is. It is only an opinion that Pit Bulls come in many different shapes and sizes. These are facts. The statement of different variations of Pit Bulls is indeed, incorrect. If your dog looks nothing like the picture below and it has papers, it is most likely an American Bully. For the people who have dogs that were either rescued or from a shelter, you have a Bull breed mix/mutt (BBM) not a Pit Bull or a Pit Bull type dog. There is no Pit Bull type dog. That was created by the government to make THEIR jobs easier.

American Pit Bull Terriers were not bred for looks. The majority of breeds are no longer bred for working purposes. They are bred for mainly looks, and looks only. Pit Bulls are STILL not bred for looks. Some breeders do prefer to breed for show and what some would call "pretty structure", however, most still breed for gameness. Breeding for work does not always require a dog to be pretty. Gameness is NOT another word used to describe fighting. Game bred dogs still have a high prey drive. They are usually bred to use as catch dogs (hunting... which is a sport) and often protecting farm land from wild predators. A game bred dog or a dog with gameness is NOT the same as a game dog.

Depending on the bloodline, there are various physical differences, however, they are still lean and muscular. Breeders and knowledgeable Pit Bull enthusiasts will often be able to pick out an APBT over a different Bull breed or a mix thereof. The reason the look of Pit Bulls can slightly vary are due to the breed originally being bred for gameness rather than looks. However, this doesn't mean that a Pit Bull can reach 100+ pounds without having another breed mixed in.

This dog is not underweight. He has a Terrier body with plenty of muscle. He is conditioned with weight training and agility and is in better health and condition that the majority of the human population.

What is the point of this blog?

Awareness! I see too many dogs that end up on the news being called Pit Bulls. I have yet to see an actual American Pit Bull Terrier on the news for an attack or mauling. I have however, seen plenty of mutts end up on the news. Labrador Retriever mixes can fall into the category of a "pit bull type" dog. It's not only unfair to the breed itself, but also to undeserving breeds that get lumped all together because it's easier to deal with a generalization rather than an individual dog.

This Lab-Husky mix would fall into the category of a "Pit Bull type" dog. This is just an example of what lumping together multiple pure bred as well as mixed breeds into one, based on a couple of similarities, does. Depending on WHERE this puppy ends up in life, can determine his fate of life and death. It isn't fair to actual Pit Bull owners,  Bull breed owners, the dog, the breed, or the breeds who have similar features and characteristics. Educate yourself before you try to fight for equal rights of all breeds.
